Another short post today. Started the day off with a lecture on Taoism which was pretty good and very informative, thanks to Issac! In the afternoon I went for another bike ride around Weihai and gave Yon Ho another visit.

This evening was when things got really weird.

So this Final Contest of English Drama was very, VERY abstract. I didn’t know what was going on for half of it! There were some incredibly strange performances ranging from Shakespeare to 17 Again to Monkey King (which isn’t English drama, it’s Chinese!). Everything was a little off: stories completely different to the original, bizzare non-sensical humour thrown in, very weird action scenes, questionable dancing and creepy singing!

More suited to a psychological thriller than The Sound of Music!

Also each drama performance was given a string of ratings out of 100, with 2 decimal places?! Surely you can’t rank a person’s performance as 92.46? So random! Oh and everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, got above 90. Clearly they were being far too easy on them! So for most of the contest we were left completely confused!

This evening we decided to check out Club 2046 as we’d heard so much about it. I thought it was a pretty awesome club but everybody else wanted to head to SOHO bar again so we left soon after for SOHO.

Enjoy the pics and expect more soon! 🙂 再見!

I'm a 21-year-old university student currently living in Oxford, UK. I love travelling and hope someday to move abroad permanently. The best part about travelling for me is having new experiences, soaking up all the culture and making new friends from around the world. As well as travel, I love music (live or otherwise), gaming and cinema.

Hi Peter, yes we spent 3 weeks at the Shandong University at Weihai. They invited students from around the world for a cultural exchange 🙂 I made so many friends all over Asia during my travels, it was great! My time in China was unforgettable and I really hope to come back after my studies end next year! Thanks for commenting on the site!
